Without thinking much, I picked up a sausage from a well-known brand. Nothing fancy, nothing suspicious — just a product people buy every day without ever imagining what could be hidden beneath its familiar packaging. Back home, I made myself a few sandwiches. I sliced several thick pieces, turned on a TV show, and had dinner peacefully. The taste seemed completely normal. Nothing strange, nothing alarming. I wrapped up the rest of the sausage and put it in the refrigerator.
If I had known then how this story would end… I probably would have emptied my entire kitchen.
The next morning started like so many others. Half asleep, holding a half-finished cup of coffee, I decided to make a quick breakfast. I opened the fridge, took out the same sausage, placed it on the cutting board, and grabbed a knife.
Then something strange happened.
The blade cut through the sausage… oddly. Not the way processed meat is supposed to feel. It was as if something solid was hidden inside. I frowned. My first thought was that it had frozen overnight.
But the second cut was even worse.

The knife suddenly stopped, as though it had hit a metal plate.
A cold shiver ran down my spine.
Slowly, I pulled apart the sliced section… and noticed a faint glimmer.
Something was reflecting light from the very center of the sausage.
For a few seconds, I just stood there, unable to believe what I was seeing.
“A piece of foil? A machine part? Metal debris?”
Thoughts raced through my mind.
With a mixture of disgust and nervous curiosity, I started digging with the knife. My hands were trembling. The pink mass broke apart into greasy chunks across the table.
And suddenly… I pulled it out.
A small rectangular object covered in bits of meat.
A USB flash drive.
A real computer flash drive.
For several seconds, I stared at it without blinking.
The world seemed to stop.
My stomach tightened.
I had already eaten this sausage.
I had swallowed part of a product containing an electronic device.
How could that even be possible?
Not some shady product from a street market… but a factory-made item in sealed packaging.
My mind began creating wild theories.
A manufacturing mistake?
Someone’s twisted prank?
An attempt to hide something?
Or… a message?
I felt trapped between disgust, fear, and uncontrollable curiosity.
Logic told me to throw everything away immediately, call consumer protection authorities, and forget this nightmare ever happened.
But curiosity was stronger than common sense.
I rinsed the object under hot water. My hands were shaking so badly I nearly dropped it into the sink.
The flash drive looked old, worn… yet surprisingly intact.
A strange feeling of dread kept growing inside me.
I turned on my computer.
The screen slowly lit up.
The sound of the cooling fan suddenly seemed unnaturally loud.
One second.
Then another.
I inserted the flash drive into the USB port.
The computer recognized the device almost instantly.
And at that exact moment, I became truly afraid.
Because there were clearly files on it.
Lots of files.
Folders.
Videos.
Documents.
Photos.
It wasn’t an empty drive.
Not just a random piece of electronic junk.
Someone had deliberately stored information on it.
I clicked.
And froze.
I felt the blood drain from my face.
An icy chill rose from my stomach to my throat.
What was stored on that flash drive had nothing to do with an object accidentally falling into a food production line.
This was something far more disturbing.
Something so unexpected and unsettling that, for a moment, I thought I must be dreaming.
But the screen kept glowing.
The files were real.
And with every passing second, one thing became clear: this story was only beginning.
Because the real question was no longer: “How did a flash drive end up inside a sausage?”
The real question was something else entirely.
WHO wanted someone to find it?
And why was that person… me?
