His hair was messy, his hands trembled from hunger and exhaustion, and his tired eyes looked as though life had stopped showing him mercy a long time ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But that evening, he finally found the courage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When the barbershop across the street was almost empty, the homeless man slowly opened the door. Inside, the warm smell of coffee and shampoo filled the room. The young barber was getting ready to close when he heard a quiet voice behind him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cExcuse me\u2026 It\u2019s my birthday today\u2026 Could I maybe have a small piece of cake? Even just a little one\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The room instantly fell silent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even the sound of the hairdryer seemed quieter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The barber swallowed hard and kept working. An hour later, a completely different man sat in front of the mirror. Fresh haircut. Trimmed beard. Clean shirt that one of the employees had brought for him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Michel stared at his reflection in disbelief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His lips trembled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIs\u2026 is that really me?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Michel sat there with tears running down his face, a young woman suddenly stood up from the other side of the restaurant. She had been watching him the entire evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He had only wanted to give a homeless man a piece of cake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He gave him his life back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
